CARDINAL PLACE/ESSO GLEN, VICTORIA, LONDON

This recently completed mixed office and retail development for Land Securities provided lots of scope for the use of Radflex 125 movement joints in a buried situation.  Working closely with London based architect EPR and the major waterproofing subcontractors, Radflex were able to provide a full design package for Radflex joints in conjunction with various different waterproofing systems including hot rubber membranes and mastic asphalt.  In excess of 800 LM of Radflex 125 double laminate expansion joint membrane was successfully installed into the project.

GEORGE YARD CAR PARK, BRAINTREE

This project had been many years in coming to fruition.  However the client, Braintree District Council, finally secured the budget to completely upgrade the top deck of this ageing multi storey.  Consulting Engineers, Messer’s Cameron Taylor Bedford specified the use of Radflex S200 movement joints in conjunction with Triflex liquid coating applied directly to the surface of the existing mastic asphalt to accept the new joint.  Working with Messer’s Matrix Specialist Solutions this project achieved both a functional and aesthetically pleasing refurbishment for the client.

CHAPELFIELD SHOPPING CENTRE, NORWICH

This new shopping centre in the heart of East Anglia provided Radflex with one of its biggest challenges to date in providing solutions in design for Architect/Engineer, Building Design Partnership, and Main Contractor Bovis Lend Lease. 

The design of this building incorporated lots of structural movement joints, from car park to shopping mall, some waterproof, some needing 1 hr fire protection, some vertical and some horizontal.  Radflex were able to provide car park joints, S200, buried joints, S125, resin bonded joints, S100, external silicone coloured joints, S50 and compressible fire sealing joints, FP.
